If you’re looking for somewhere to stay in Amsterdam that offers a warm welcome, home comforts and luxury in an incredible location, you’ll not find anywhere more perfect than Canal House. Set on Amsterdam’s grandest canal, this hotel is made up of three, traditional, 17th century townhouses. The building boasts intricate, original features, whilst blending with modern comforts you’d expect of a 4-star hotel. There is a variety of rooms to choose from to suit every budget - some with picturesque canal views and in-room bathtubs. Breakfast is always included.
Let's take a look inside an "Outstanding" room...
The Outstanding rooms face the infamous King's Canal, meaning the large windows open out onto one of the best Hotel views in the city. Each room boasts grand proportions; the high, beamed ceilings keep the rooms bright and airy. They both feature Marcel Wanders' artwork (our room featured the famous White Queen).
Both of the Outstanding rooms are styled as open plan suites - with the dual sinks and bath being situated inside the bedroom itself. They have separate rainforest showers as well as deep Philippe Starck tubs for bathing. I love scheduling a relaxing hotel bath, especially after hours of walking around the city, so this was a very welcome feature!
Don't forget to make the most of the stunning private garden, it's perfect to enjoy a quiet drink after busy day browsing the shops and walking around museums. There is also a cosy, intimate summer house just big enough for two. We enjoyed a glass of prosecco there one evening, it was beautiful.
Canal House needs to be added to your "must visit hotel" list this year! Bookmark this post for your next visit and click here for a video tour of the entire hotel!
