Firstly, the exterior for this hotel is just beautiful! The traditional, white, Georgian buildings of Notting Hill make you feel as if you've stepped into a British blockbuster movie! I love wandering around these parts of London just to admire the architecture alone!
We checked in just ahead of the usual check-in time of 4pm. This seems like a rather late check-in time, however, you are more than welcome to drop off luggage earlier in order to free up your hands and occasionally, if your room is ready early, they will let you check in before 4!
We were checked into a lovely garden room (as per our voucher conditions) and was absolutely blown away by every aspect of this beautiful room! The design elements are a nod to the Bohemian spirit of the Portobello Road Market and the eclectic soul of Notting Hill and London of the swinging 60s. The unique, one-of-a-kind pieces of furniture and decor were sourced from local markets and antique shops. bringing the hotel’s identity to life.
My favourite parts of this suite were the insane bathroom set up, featuring a claw-foot bathtub and beautiful ornate gold mirror. The small garden terrace was also well received by both of us. The table and chairs served as a great way to soak in some fresh air and sun from the comfort of our room!
Our stay included the room, breakfast in the morning and a delicious bottle of prosecco, which we were able to have in the room at our leisure. It was a special touch on such a lovely trip.
Breakfast was an incredible, continental spread of pastries, juice, coffee and more! We were able to select what we wanted the night before by filling out a card that we hung on the door to be picked up by the lovely staff.
Overall, if you are looking for a cosy, stylish, Notting Hill hotel, then The Portobello Hotel is for you! It was a wonderful stay in the perfect location.
