Egyptian Street Food in London

Hey Guys,
I was recently invited by the team at Koshari Street, to come and try something from their menu. I love trying new food, especially dishes that derive from other counties and cultures, so was happy to pop along on a Friday lunchtime!
I took my friend Shermin, who is vegan, as they have many vegan and vegetarian options - so I thought it would be great for her. We arrived around midday and couldn't wait to discover what "Koshari" really was...
What is Koshari ?
"A naturally healthy Koshari is Egyptian street food to light up your world: a heart-warming, naturally healthy, multicultural potpourri of grains, chickpeas, zingy sauces, perfectly spiced vegetables and meat, topped with caramelized onions and a sprinkling of doqqa, straight from the souks and squares of Cairo."
Koshari Street offer a range of "bowls" with pre-chose topping combinations. These all looked great, but in the end we decided to create our own! They come in two sizes - regular and large. The large was very filling and I even had some leftovers for later in the day! As a meat-eater, I went for the following selection:
A Regular Koshari base with a small amount of tomato sauce
Chicken
Sweet Potato
Avocado
Crispy Onions
Regular Hummus
Chilli SauceI can tell you now, that this is a superior selection! It was so tasty! Shermin went for a similar selection, but with cauliflower instead of chicken, jalapeƱos and spicy hummus.
Thank you for a lovely lunchtime meal, Koshari Street! I will definitely be visiting again! You can find Koshari street on St Martin's Lane in Covent Garden, London.
Have you ever tried Egyptian street food?
